What exactly is Durasid

Durasid is a high-quality facade cladding system for new construction and renovation. The panels are made of rigid PVC foam with a co-extruded top layer. This results in a product that combines the warm, natural appearance of wood with the durability and ease of maintenance of synthetic material.

What are the biggest advantages compared to real wood?

• Low maintenance: You never need to paint, stain, or oil again; only clean occasionally.
• Durable: It does not rot, does not warp, and is resistant to mold or insects.
• Colorfast: The UV-resistant top layer ensures that the colors retain their depth.
• Lightweight: Easier to transport and assemble than solid wood.
• Easy to work with: Can be sawn with a handsaw and fastened with stainless steel screws.

Is Durasid environmentally friendly?

Yes. Durasid panels have an extremely long lifespan, meaning they need to be replaced much less frequently than traditional materials. In addition, the base material (PVC) is fully recyclable and free of toxic substances such as lead.

Can I install Durasid myself?

Yes, for the handy do-it-yourselfer, Durasid is perfectly fine to install yourself. However, we always recommend following the official installation manual carefully. For complex projects, we recommend hiring a professional tradesman.

What should I pay attention to regarding the rear construction?

Good ventilation is essential. Durasid must always be mounted on a wooden or metal framework (back structure) with a continuous air cavity of at least 20 mm behind the panels. This prevents heat accumulation and moisture problems.

How do the panels handle temperature fluctuations?

Like all plastics, Durasid can expand or contract slightly due to heat and cold. This is completely normal. The installation manual specifies exactly how much clearance you must allow for the profiles and screws to accommodate this movement without problems.

How should I clean Durasid?

Maintenance is minimal. Usually, an annual clean with lukewarm water and a mild, non-abrasive household cleaner (such as all-purpose cleaner) is sufficient. Use a soft brush or a sponge.

May I use a pressure washer?

Yes, with a maximum pressure of 80 bar. Excessive pressure or an overly concentrated jet can damage the top layer or the seals.

Note: Never use aggressive solvents, acetone, methylated spirits, or abrasive cleaning agents (such as sandpaper or abrasive cleaner). These will irreparably damage the UV protection layer.

Durasid is available in various styles to suit any architecture:

• Durasid Original: planks with a coarser wood structure available in siding, double rebate, or tongue and groove in solid colors. With a functional width of 167 mm or 333 mm for double rebate. Length 5 m.
• Durasid Natural: available as siding with a functional width of 167 mm, fine wood grain structure, and featuring a mottled coating. Length 5 m.
• Durasid Urban: Sleek matte planks with a functional width of 167 mm for a modern, minimalist look (can be installed horizontally or vertically). Length 5 m.
• Durasid Foresta: Unique planks 250 m wide featuring a photo-realistic wood grain print for the ultimate natural look. Available in various wood designs. Length 5 m.

Is Durasid resistant to hard blows (impact resistant)?

Yes, thanks to the hard PVC foam core, the panels are very robust and impact-resistant. They withstand daily use, hailstorms, or a football thrown around in the garden exceptionally well.
